Show Good Things Coming Quickly, The Southern fanner is In various sorts of trouble. The price paid by the oil mills for cottonseed has been so high that is, $18 or $20 a ton that the farmer has deprived himself of tms customary fertilizer by selling it, and he has been obliged to buy commercial fertilizer at $2 or $3 a ton less. But there is other trouble. The southern Industry is so booming in its lumbei mills, railroads, mines, and other occupations, occu-pations, that it is Difficult to get labor to work the farms, and so a great cotton cot-ton crop cannot be looked for. |
