Show Gambling at County Fairs. The Rev. Jsme Hoffman Batten, pastor of the Oe.man Methodist church of Macomb. 111.. i a gentleman much noticed by the stst press at this time. The reason for It la that be recently wote the following letter: "McDonough County Fair Association Associa-tion Macomb. III. : I herewith return REV. J. H. BATTEN, j yotir complimentary ticket for three reason: 1. If I care to attend I am able to pay my way. 2. I ask no favor and propose to grant none to an organization that deliberately de-liberately and defiantly violates the law of both God and man. 3. I propose that at least one minister min-ister in the city of Macomb shall not be used as an advertisement for an association as-sociation of professional gamblers who conduct their criminal business under the name of an agricultural fair.
