May 24r-Ux-penditures totaling f 280,700 of National Nation-al Forest Highway Funds for the con,- U structlon of 07 miles of highway in tho Btato of Utah haVe Just boon approved ap-proved by Secretary of Agriculture Wallace This monoy was made nvlalablo for roads serving the notion-nl notion-nl forests and for roads within or adjacent ad-jacent to tho forests, which aro of prlmnry importance to tho Statos, counties, and communities. Six projocts will bo constructed, thrco of which aro located within or adjacent to tho Sevier National Forest, two within or adjacent to Ihe Flllraoro Nntlonal Forost and tho other ndjacont to tho Uinta National Forost. Firty thousand dollars will bo oxponded In completing a 13.5 mllo section of tho Ilebor-Frultland Iload, ono of tho main cast and west routos through Utah, Six miles of tho road connecting Covo Fort and Sevlor will bo built at a C03t of $48,000. Twelve miles of road will bo constructed at a cost of JG2.200 to assist In tho development develop-ment of llryce Canyon in Qarflold County. Flfty-ono thousand flvo hundred hun-dred dollars will be expended in the construction of the stato road through Sovlor Hlvor Canyon. Twenty miles of tho Cednr Long Valley Iload In Knno County will bo completed at nn estimated cost of $107,000. All roads on which monoy will bo spent are projocts for which aid from ,tho Forost Iload Funds has boon asked by tho Utah Stato Highway Com- |
