Show Scouts and tho Scoutmaster Thoro Is a strong bond ot fellowship or comradoshlp which dovolops between be-tween tho scouts and tho Scoutmaster, a bond that is not ofton found between fathor and son. Tho reason for this Is that tho Scoutmastor leads tho scouts In doing what Is to bo accomplished, accom-plished, While tho fathor usually tells tho boy to do a task and then If It Is not porformod, rosorts to harsh moans of enforcement or olso lets tho task go unporformod. Tho fathor Is usually usual-ly unablo to get In and glvo tho boy a start on tho task, and tho boy, who Is a gregarious animal and likes company, com-pany, cannot bring himself to tho point of doing tho work alone. This spirit of comradoshlp and holpfulnoss -was woll demonstrated by tho scouts of LIndon, Utah, last spring. Th6 boys of tho troop had boon working as a group thinning beots, tho scoutmaster leaving his own Hold in ordor to work with tho boys In ordor to earn some monoy for tho troop treasury. Whon ho Anally got back to his own work ho found that it would tako much hard work to get his boots thinned in time. Near tho ond of tho third day as ho camo up to tho houso, ho met a group of scouts who wanted him to go awlm-mlng awlm-mlng with them. Ho finally consented consent-ed and wont for a llttlo fun. As thoy returned from tholr swim, thoro was congregated at tho houso practically all tho troop. Tho scoutmastor was puzzled as -to why they had como so early, for although that was tho troop meeting night, it was sovoral hours ooforo meeting timo. After a few preliminary words of cheerful banter with tho nowcomers, ono of tho boys said, "Como on follows, lets got busy and got this Job dono beforo Its too Into," and away they went behind tho barn whoro all had ditched tholr hoes and up to tho Hold and to work thinning tho Scoutmastors boots. Bolow nro a fow lndorsomonts of tho work: I do not know of any movoment that fills the requirements of tho saying of tho Savior, "Ovorcomo ovll with good" than tho Doy Scout movoment ns pertaining to boys. Keop them busy doing good and thoy will not havo time to do ovll. S. L. Chlpman, President Alplno Stako. In tho beginning of tho Boy Scout movoraont I was not vory enthusiastic, but slnco I havo found out its true moaning, I nm for it heart and soul, for as I bollovo, It will do moro for our boya in forming character and good cltlzonshlp than any other ono thing that I know of. Abel 'Joan Evans, Attorney at Law, Lohl. a The training given tho Boy Scouts Is ot tho very highost ordor, that which will mako better mon and better bet-ter Cltlzons. I wish that ovory boy In tho commounlty could becomo a well trained Scout. Tho cltlzonshlp ot tho nozt gonoratlon would then be Immeasurably raised abovo tho prosent standard. Jamos II.
