M Ambrose asked for n license to oporato u public pub-lic pool hall, and n motion granting the license was carried by a voto of tin eo to two It was found, however, how-ever, that them was a city ordinance expressly prohibiting the granting of a license, which ordinance must be repealed before the action of tho City Council could bo of effect An ordinance or-dinance was drawn up repealing tho ordinance against pool halls, but when a motion that tho ordinance be not repealed was carried, the now ordinance was not presented There was a good attendance of leading church olllclals and odlcers of tho Clvlc-Hettermont League present to opposo changing the ordinances, but as tho Council clearly Indicated their Intended action the vlsltois did not make any talks.
