When the conference con-ference of members of the Democratic national committee adjourned It had taken no action regarding the policy of thu parly in the coming presidential presiden-tial campaign, and no plans for tho platform were even discussed. The meeting, from first to last, was one of discussion regarding methods of work of next year and the wuyH and means by which this work could best be accomplished. ac-complished. Tho matters of "anti-trusts," "antl-Imperialism'' "antl-Imperialism'' and silver were not touched upon. No action was taken regarding them, and no recommendations recommenda-tions weru made. The next meeting of the conference will probably be held ln Chicago on July 30, and Chairman Jones of the notional committee has been nsked to call a formal meeting for that date, it is expected that at this meeting definite acllog will l: taken, and the qurhtloii of what Is to be the rallying cry of the Democracy lu the fall of 1W0 will be determined. - |
