Show - '' ''"" .Wua. The new manifesto appears to :ontinue to create quite a stir in certain quarters. We see no need for this. If the Mormon people wish to make a rule governing the members of their church whose business is it but their own? If they can stand it surely those who arc not members ought not to complain. If the manifesto indicates anything any-thing in regard to church and state it indicates that the Mormon authorities wisli no mingling of the two. Nothing can be more logical than this. Had they the authorities-r-put forth a manifesto recommending their members to go. into the political arena and gobble up every office possible, then it would have looked like the church was going lo dominate the state with a vengeance. lJut the rule is the opposite to this according to the manifesto. |
