C Wise Vise Phil C. C Bing and C. C W. W Snow will be dropped from the faculty of the University at the end of the semester unless the board of regents decides to retain them without without without with with- out the recommendation of President Joseph T. T Kingsbury who informed these men Thursday that their services services services ser ser- vices would no longer be required In jn each case the president refused to give any reason for his action except except except ex ex- that it was for the good of the Institution He stated that his refusal to o make public specific reasons was due to a desire to protect the individuals individuals individuals indi indi- concerned The men dismissed dismissed dismissed dis dis- dis- dis missed however say that they are areas areas areis is as thoroughly ignorant as to the real cause of their dismissal as is the general general general gen gen- eral public It is generally believed by students that a rumor recently circulated to the effect that a movement movement movement move move- ment was under way to remove the president from his position has I reached Dr Kingsbury's ears and that he has taken this drastic step to nip such a movement in the bud by getting getting get- get ting ing rid of the men whom be believed to o be agitating it This belief is emphasized emphasized emphasized em em- by the fact that the president president president dent has refused to give the four instructors in- in n- n concerned an au opportunity to defend themselves and has even refused refused reused re re- re- re fused used to tell them why they are dis- dis charged An attempt has been made by Dr Knowlton and Professor Wise Vise to obain obtain ob ob- tain ain a hearing before the board of regents but nothing definite has been accomplished up to date and it seems improbable that the regents will consider consider con- con sider ider the matter until their regular meeting next week It is said that the dismissal of these four our men is but a beginning in a general general genral gen- gen eral ral readjustment planned by the president resident and that several other members members mem- mem bers ers of the faculty will be dropped It t was rumored on the campus Friday Friday Fri- Fri day Jay that Professor F.
