Peter Lymnu Lott, the son of Cornelius Cornel-ius P. nnd Permella Lott, Was born In Pike County, Illinois, 011 November '-'ml. 1842. With his parents the (ollowin spring he moved to Hancock Count) and in the spring of 18(0 crossed tin Missouri 2tiver and soon reached Winter Quarters. Here the family remained until ihe spring of 1948, when the msde the long journey across the plain to Halt Lake City, arriving Sept. IMth. Injure. 1853, Coniollus Lott, faihei of Peter, dltd. The family moved tin following spring to Lehl, where Brother Piter Lott has since resided, except few years which were spent in Beavei City. Brother Lott participated in many o the privations and hardships ol pioncei life incident to the eaily settlement ol Utah, being ever to ihe front In standing stand-ing gnatd, fighting Indian battles, making mak-ing long and arduous journeys, or otherwise other-wise protecting the lives nnd property of tho Latter-day Saints. At the early age of 11 years his nam was placed upon the roll of duly, following follow-ing which he had experience In both the Wnlkor aiidTlutlc Indian Wars. , In 1805, Urn, Lott made a trip to Houthern California with n mule team, traveling 1600 miles In three mouths and eight days.
