Show THE NEW STAFF In accord with est established precedent four members of the staff have hav already been chosen This is made imperative by the enormous amount o of work necessary in getting the paper started One man would be helpless Under the present system of competition the reportorial staff cannot be selected selected selected se se- in less than two weeks time and meanwhile the paper must be pub pub- This accounts for the apparent arbitrary appointments made Members Members Members Mem Mem- bers of the faculty have been consulted however and their recommendations followed Mr Frank McConnell will act as first associate editor He is well known to former students as he held the position of f a reporter last year and edited the famous Soph war Soph-war war issue In addition Mr McConnell has had experience on town down-town dailies and is well equipped to enter the field of college jour jour- He is a representative of the Junior class Mr Brent F. F Cahoon is the other associate editor Mr Cahoon who is isa isa a a. a sophomore distinguished himself last year in literary circles A number of his contributions appeared in the University pen and his very original themes in his English 1 work gained notoriety for him in the Chronicle He has also had considerable experience on high school publications To fill the very important position of advertising manager Mr J. J Rolla Thomas was selected Mr Thomas who is in his Senior year ably managed the nineteen fifteen under Editor Callister last spring and has shown marked ability in the fine art of pursuing the elusive ad Mr James White will fill the position of circulation clerk Mr White is a sophomore and was prominent in a number of student activities last year The remainder of the staff will be chosen on a competitive basis Everyone Everyone Everyone Ev Ev- interested in this line of work is urged to try for a place There are ten selections yet to be made and we want the best possible Have a try anyway |
