Show H Till MA YOll'S MlSTAKIi. H The question of keeping money H at home has, been advocated at H different times in these columns, H for the protection of our mer- H chants who are doing business M here. It may have had effect on H some individuals, but it .seems to H have never reached the heat I of H our mayor. H A special election was called H last Monday, which required hal H lots, cards of instruction, etc., to M be printed, and there was no rea- H son why they should not have M been printed here, and the money 1 kept at home. Hut, for some H unknown reason, they were sent m to Provo to be printed. B When questioned as to wh M the'job was not given out here M Mayor Willas could give mo just H ' reason other than that he did not M know how to make out the form H and that he thought that Mr. H Skelton, of Provo, was a little H more experienced in the ballot H line, and therefore gave him the H Now this was a very poor e::- H cusc, for even if Mayor Will.is H did not know enough to make H out the form, there are plenty of H intelligent men in Lehi who could H have done it for him. H The Bannicr man was not H even given a chance to bid on the H work, and it was not because lie H was incapable of doing the work. H He could have put out a better H job than . the Provo parlies did, H and the price would have bet'ti H equally low, H The story of not knowing just H what was wanted without going H to Provo, sounds a little weak. H When a Lehi mayor has got to H go to a Piovo printer to seek in- H formation in regard to doing such H a trifling little job of printing, the H protection that home institutions H will receive from that mayor will H be very slim. B Next time you want informa- H tion let 'I'm: Hannhr man put in H a bid with Provo. |
