Show THE 1930 BUDGET OF THE STATES TEL TEL COMPANY A tot total alot ot will bo be expended during 1930 by the mountain states telephone and telegraph company for the improvement Improve met find extension of the telephone service in utah according to information received from pre president F II 11 iteld held by the news these expenditures will bo be made with tho the telephone companas comp anys continuing aint aim in view of provI providing dIg tho the most and best possible service at the least possible cost consistent with financial safety because ot of a rapidly increasing use of the long dis distance fance service a considerable portion of oe this years expenditure will be used to provide arditi additional onal circuits to accommodate the present and anticipated long di distance traffic all new circuits will be of copper wire providing clearer voice transmission miss lon and existing iron circuits will be replaced with copper in many instances about will bo be devoted to extending and improving the long distance service in utah this year the year ceaf already has seen a substantial reduction la in day rates on station to station long distance calls this reduction the fourth lit in a little more than three years became e effect tive january 1 1930 and it Is estimated will save he people ot of this country more than SS annually provision lg Is made for a wider and more local service for the communities served by the mountain states campany it Is expected that 2529 telephones will be added to the system in utah this year la in addition to the expenditures tor for new work the telephone company will spend approximately in the state tills this year tor for wages rent and other similar p purposes the principal projects tor for increased long distance comprises toll entrance cable at salt lake city additional circuits and pole work between cedar cite Cit yand and st george additional dit ional tonal circuit between Co coalville alville and salt lake city additional circuits between salt lake city ogden and intermediate ter mediate point and toll pole re placements throughout the state |
