Show SERVICES HELD FOR FORMER L 0 sargent received a telegram tria alday rl day a y brohl dallas texas stating b hat fit G george e argo irgo E hanks had died there thursday ot of heart failure and that mrs irn hanks and daughter inez were wringing the body to panguitch Pan gultch for burial L 0 james BI and norman sargent brothers bt others of mrs airs hanks met horn hem wednesday at marysvale Marys vale and brought tho the body to panguitch Pan gultch funeral services were held la III tae the north ward chapel wednesday afternoon at mr air and mrs hanks left pan gultch about ton ten years ago and tor for acme time lived in salt lake city later going to portland land oregon and from aiom there to georgia to live with their so eon n dr 0 W hanks and upon lie he latter being transferred to dallas texas to the veterans Il hospital about two years ago accompanied dr ranks hanks and family to that place while in dallas last summer mr bir hanks was taken suddenly III and at tilt the time alnio was waa supposed to be suffering from the extreme heat and it was waa thought advisable for him to go tu to portland as tile the climate there was more favorable Ilo however wever be gradually grow grew worse and about two months ago he was taken back to pallas in the hope that lie he might be by the change ot of climate but upon his arrival there it was determined ter mined that he was suffering with heart trouble and that nothing could ha be done to save his life mr I 1 hanks came to Pan gultch when a young man and married rozina hargest Sar gest and until ten years vgo resided hero here where lie he engaged ii farming and the mercantile business ile he was tile the instigator of the building ot of the rock store here which was waa known at that time as the peoples Equla Equi able ble commonly called the little ek and was superintendent ot of that store for fop many years be fore foie that time he was actively engaged in the dance hall and orchestra business and was part owner and helped to build the old dance hall at Pan gultch lake also the old hall which is known now as sams garage lie ile was manager ot of the orchestra and played tor for all dances ih it pan pall gultch tor fok years later lie he was mall mail contractor from marysvale Marys vale to panguitch Pan gultch and after one contract was filled lie he again took the contract from marysvale Marys vale to kanab the first schedule that was run on the long contract ile he was lorn born in Parag oonah in 1867 ile he th la survived by his widow mrs mr q AT R I 1 hanks I 1 alks and the following children dr G W hanks of dallas texas mrs lucille craner and arthur hanks ot of Pot portland land oregon and miss bliss inez ranks hanks of new york city two sons bons preceded him in death several years ago one lorin agoa aged fourteen who was accidentally shot by another boy several years ago tile the following brothers and sisters also survive IV D hanks of 0 le grande oregon 11 S hanks of los angeles calif J S hanks of salt lake city and mrs airs wm win barton of Parag oonah |
