Show Woman - Person series scheduled at College psychology and director of counseling, Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, will be guest lecturer. Non credit registration fee for the class is $15. For credit a $10 registration fee plus $10 per credit hour is charged. For regular daytime students, $5 per credit hour or $12 for audit is charged. Registration for Woman-Person, Woman-Person, a series of seven sessions presented in conjunction with International Women's Year, will lo held tonight (Thursday) at Southern Utah State College. Registration for the course, presented on a credit or non-credit non-credit basis, will be held from 5-7 p.m. in the student center small ballroom in connection with regular evening school registration. Sponsored bv the SL'SC "Career Development," April 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the family living center. A session dealing with questions related to career limitations and options. "Venereal Disease: An American Epidemic," May 7 at 2 p.m. in the music recital hall. Gordon James, teaching fellow, College of Health, Division of Health Science, University of Utah, will be guest speaker. "Alternatives in Human Relations," May 14 at 2 p.m. in the music recital hall. John Narcisco, Jr., Ph.D., professor of Women's Resource Steering Committee, the seven sessions will feature "a . lot of really outstanding speakers", Kathryn Berg, steering committee spokeswoman said. The course is an extension of the Woman-Person class held last quarter, on campus. "We were really happy with course attendance last quarter, averaging around 45 persons per session, and expect higher attendance at-tendance this quarter," Ms. Berg said. She noted that group work and interchange will be stressed whenever possible, during sessions. Various lecturers are being drawn from SUSC's Visiting Lecture Series, a program developed to bring speakers to campus who are "most often requested by the students," Berg noted. The series of meetings, topics and speakers include: "Self-assertiveness," April 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the SUSC family living center. Kaye M. Coleman, MSW, Counselor-Educator from the Women's Resource Center, University of Utah, will be guest speaker. "Alcoholism: Definition and Impact," April 9 at 2 p.m. in the music recital hall. Gary Jorgensen, Ph.D., Director of the University of Utah Hospital Drug Abuse and Alcohol Clinic, will be lecturer. "International Women's Year; Learning to Trust," April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the family living center. Guest speaker will be Jan Tyler, assistant professor of Child Development and Family Relationships and director, Family Consultation Center, Brigham Young University. "Stress and the General Adaptation Syndrome," April 23 at 2 p.m. in the music recital hall. Speaker will be David A. Dolowitz, M.D., physician and surgeon from Salt Lake City. |
