E of Boston J Dr Winship has grown up in educational wortHe work wort He is the editor of the Journal of Education the tU only national weekly educational paper in Ameri Ameri ca He is on a tour of the West Vest and has given give several delightful lectures to the teachers ani and ad principals of our city schools 1 t The Doctor paid a visit to the University Thursday and accompanied by Professor Ste Stew Stewart Step art inspected the Training School visiting even the practice teachers Dr Winship expressed a himself as being delighted with the work of Utah Utah's public schools Educators of this state should shou II feel highly gratified at such praise coming as as' as ft t does from a man so well qualified to judge a as s Dr Winship As he himself says I have been i it in schools of many kinds I have visited schools in it 1 e- e every state in the Union and in more than half the states I have visited them for twenty-five twenty years s. s j I have lectured in state and andin fn in colleges and universities On Tuesday afternoon at the High School Dr Winship Kinship addressed the teachers of the city on The Modern Boys and Girls Critic meetings at atthe atthe atthe the Normal school were adjourned and the practice practice practice tice teachers also attended the lecture Many helpful suggestions were given Dr Winship's idea is that boys and girls should be boys and girls not hurried into manhood and womanhood On Wednesday afternoon another lecture c was vas as given and a number of were also in at at- Dr Winship said that the time was coming when boys and girls will be given credit for what they know within themselves and not f for r what they are taught in school only |
