Show L0QKING BACK Did you know-That know-That in 191(i the Cedar City streets were so dry and dusty, that arrangements were made to water the streets with the use of a street ' I sprinkler to keep down some of the dust! j 50 years ago I The Iron County School Board met in regular session June 1, 1925 at which time the budget for year 1925-26 was discussed and approved. ap-proved. Also a request to conduct a kindergarten for the summer was approved. The Board authorized bids for the painting of the school buildings at Paragonah, Kanarra, Enoch, Summit and Modena. Because of increased enrollment in the Domestic Science Dept. of Cedar Jr. High, present equipment was inadequate and it was j deemed advisable by the board to increase the equipment among which was a modern electric range. 25 years a go-Patrick go-Patrick H. Fenton, a Cedar City Attorney, was appointed the new City Attorney. He replaced Orville Isom, who served as Attorney under Mayor G. Ft. Parry before Mr. Fenton's appointment. I Frank J. Petty and Miss Wilma Marie Siggard were married June 5, in the Logan LDS Temple. They were honored at a reception that evening in Brigham City. They took a honeymoon trip through the I Pacific northwest after which they returned to Cedar City where he j was engaged in business. J 10 years ago The first of two major conventions were held in Cedar City, as j members of the Elks Lodges from all of Utah, began their 51st an- ' nual convention of the Utah Elks Association. A special feature was I the annual barbecue held at the Cedar Jr. High football field, j Special events were planned for the Lions as the District Gover- i nor's Ball was staged at the College Ballroom.
