Musical selection consisted con-sisted of a Vocal Duet "Beyond the Sunset" by Whit and Rula Orton; an organ medley by Vyonne Chamberlain and a Vocal solo "I'll Walk With God" by Verle Taylor. The speaker was Don Cartwright with an Eulogy by Jean Hendrickson and remarks by Frank Davis. Pallbearers were Eugene Cena, Gerald Hyatt, Mike Hyatt, Jim Hyatt, Kenneth Orton and Bryan Sherwood. Interment was in the Parowan City Cemetery. f fry'-- , ; Parowan native dies in Dixie Hospital Funeral Services for Mary Evelyn Benson Orton 87 were held June 14, 1975 at the Parowan 2nd LDS Ward Chapel under the direction of the Spilsbury & Graff Mortuary. She was born Oct. 4, 1887 in Parowan to Richard Heber and Elizabeth Grimshaw Benson. She died June 11, 1975 at the Dixie Hospital in St. George of natural cuases. She married Ernest J. Orton in Parowan June 4, 1908. She was a housewife, active ; member of the LDS Church and served as Registrar for the ' Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for numerous years. She was also , active in the American Legion Auxilliary. She is survived by one son and three daughters: Ivan B. of Cedar City; Mrs. Maude Hyatt and Mrs. Pearl Stevens both of Parowan and Mrs. Eugene (Beth) Cena of Castro Valley, Calif. 10 grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; 2 sisters Mrs. J. Ed (Lena) Johnson of St. George, and Mrs. Alice Dalton, of Cowley, Wyoming. The family prayer was offered by Edgar Benson with Vyonne Chamberlain playing the prelude, postlude music and Frank Davis conducting. The invocation was offered by Charles Eentley with Twenty |
