Show Douglas lilelling gets 20 year service pin K. Douglas Melling was awarded his 20 year federal service pin by S. Douglas Wood, Acting District Manager of the Bureau of Land Management, Cedar City District. Doug Melling started his federal service career when he entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1951 and served through 1953. He began working for the BLM in 1955 as a member of the force account crew, which was established to complete construction con-struction projects for the enhancement and better utilization of the resources on national resource lands. Doug became the range technician for the Cedar Resource Area in 1962 and holds this position at the present time. Along with his work for the BLM, Doug ownsa farm in Cedar Valley and is actively engaged in farming and ranching. He is a lifelong resident of Cedar City and is married to the former Grace Stone. They are the parents of five children, Bill, Walker, Melanie, David and Marvin. Doug is a member of the LDS 12th Ward. He has participated par-ticipated in the scouting program for many years and also enjoys rodeoing and baseball. |
