Show Fireside guest speaker Virginia Cutler Dr. Virginia Cutler, president of the Utah League of Consumers is scheduled to be the guest speaker at an SUSC fireside on January 30 in the Music Recital Hall. The fireside will begin at 8:15 p.m. and there is no admission charge. Dr. Cutler, a native Utahn, has received much recognition as an educator and home economist. Last year she was selected as one of the 10 Most Outstanding Women of Utah, for inclusion in the Bicentennial publication "Famous Mothers in American History-1776-1976." She was Utah's Mother of the Year and National Merit Mother in 1972. She has served as head of the Home Economics Department at the University of Utah and as Dean of the College of Family Living at Brigham Young University. On invitation from the Foreign Operations Administration, Ad-ministration, she went to South East Asia to assist in Curriculum development in Teacher Training Colleges. Her headquarters were in Bangkok. Thailand and Djakorta, Indonesia. In-donesia. In 1970, she was invited by the Major Appliance Industry in Chicago to assist in planning a consumer type program to positively respond to consumer complaints. Other services to consumers have come through her membership mem-bership on the White House Consumer Advisory Council. The fireside is being held in conjunction with Snow Week activities Jan. 27 - February 4 at SUSC. |
