Show ART AND SCIENCE SCHOOL Christen Jensen This school at present consists of departments in general arts and sciences medicine and law All at present are in a vigorous and flourishing condition condition and and are prepared to enter upon a year J Df successful work As soon as their growth and the resources of the university will permit it is the intention to organize the departments departments departments de de- of law and of medicine into separate schools Another new feature in the School of Arts and Sciences and which is indicative o of its constant growth is the addition of special courses in Commerce and Industry Indus try Government and Administration tion and Journalism as well as a Teachers' Teachers Course Registration in the Arts an and Science school is much la larger ger n a than ever before before More students are taking regular courses while fewer are asking for permission to register as special students The work of the students is ismore ismore more more systematic and sha shaped ed toward toward toward to to- ward definite ends Many are specializing in English History Mathematics Languages and anI Natural Science There is no longer any reason why students t should go East to get good undergraduate undergraduate un un- graduate der-graduate work in literary and scientific lines Our equipment and teaching force are as good gany g I as S Sany any found elsewhere The law department has done itself proud Large classes seem to be the rule everywhere This may be accounted for by the fact that nearly all the old students r rare are back and have brought with them several new ones Rumor has it that they are all carrying heavy courses Prof Roylance in addition to his work in history has become a member of the law department The organization of a Moot l Court Courtis is contemplated by the prospective barristers In the near future we many expect to see it materialize Oscar Carlson one of our old law students who vho is now studying studying studying study study- ing law at the University of Chicago Chicago Chicago Chi Chi- cago paid us a visit last week He left last Monday to resume y his studies The law department is now in t its new quarters and is better fit- fit k ted up than ever before We Weare are glad to again welcome Prof Arnoldson who holds the chair of modern modern languages Mr Geo C.
