Show Concern Expressed On Lack of Donors At Blood Procurement A study of the recruiting program pro-gram for donors to the Ked Cross blood drive is being undertaken by those in charge of the program pro-gram in Iron County, according to Dr. (Jaylen Brown, procurement procure-ment chairman. The study program is the result re-sult of the poor showing of Iron County citizens in the drawing conducted last week in Tarowan and Cedar City. Blood received was far below quotas established, which are based, Dr. Brown stated, on the needs of the Valley View Medical Center. He pointed, out that for a considerable time drawings have been far below the needs of the Valley View Medical Center in this area, making it necessary for other areas to supplement what is believed to be a primary pri-mary responsibility in the area, i In Pa rowan 21 pints of blood i were drawn during the visit! against a quota of (SO and in j Cedar City 5!) pints were drawn j against a quota ol 150. Students i at the College of Southern Utah were also given a quota of 150 in a separate drawing on the campus and the students responded re-sponded to exceed the quota with a total of 170 pints. The fact remains, however, that the mobil unit left the area 127 pints short a shortage that reflects back to the needs within our own area, Dr. Brown said. |
