Show Art and Archeology At Glen Canyon Exhibited at College The art and archeology of .southeastern Utah's Glen Canyon of the Colorado will be featured in1, an exhibition at College of Southern Utah beginning Monday, Mon-day, March 30 and ending Saturday,. Satur-day,. April 4. The show emphasizes the artistic artis-tic qualities of such objects of ancient craftsmanship as pottery and basketry containers, small clay and wood ceremonial figures, fig-ures, and personal adornments of shell, bone, and stone. Also featured fea-tured are a recreated burial, a replica panel of 10th century rock art and a selection of aboriginal farming tools. In addition to these objects a series of photo-murals photo-murals picture ancient dwellings and ceremonial rooms in their natural settings and illustrate ar-Theological ar-Theological methods. I Except for a few items from nearby areas, most of the object." on display were recovered between be-tween 1957 and 1DG2 during the University of Utah's Glen Canyon Salvage Project, directed by Dr. Jesse O. Jennings, professor of anthropology. A color movie on the project will be presented Monday, March 30 at 8 p. m. by C. Melvin Aikens of the University's Univer-sity's Anthropology Museum, who will be available after the showing show-ing to answer questions about the exhibition and movie. Local sponsors of the display and film Is College of Southern Utah. The show will be moved to other towns of the state after its Cedar City showing and sponsoring spon-soring the statewide tour are the Salt Lake Art Center where the show originally appeared, the Utah Statewide Archeological Society, So-ciety, and the University of Utah.
