Show Millard Reaps Wrestling Honors The Millard Eagles of Fillmore walked off with the lion's share of the Region Six wrestling matches mat-ches held in Cedar City last Thursday. However, that share was barely enough to give them the Region Title. Millard scored a total of 87 points followed closely by Delta High with 81 and the Cedar Red men garnered 73 points for third place. As a result of the matches, however, Delta, In second pjace will send nine men Into the state championship. Cedar wUl send eight and although Millard won the Region, only seven men will be eligible to participate In the state event. Only first and second sec-ond place winners in the Region meet are allowed In the state finals. Millard in winning the meet was heavy on the first places. In the 12 divisions MUlard Eagles garnered over half of the first place honors with seven wins. They captured only one second place and also led the matches in third place with five of theii men placing In that position. Cedar Winners Cedar won three first places and two of the Cedar lads won their respective divisions with pins, the only two throughout the matches. Paul Hunter wrestling wrest-ling in the 115 pound bracket pinned Ray George of Millard for the championship and Dayn Gardner in the 157 pound class pinned Hohn Peterson of ML'lard for first place in his division The other first place winner for the Redmen was Fred Smith, grappling in the 130 pound class, The state finals will be held al Millard High School Friday and Saturday. Feb. 17 and 18. The first session will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening with two sessions Saturday. The first Saturday session ses-sion will begin at 10:00 a.m and the championships wiV be fought at 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening. eve-ning.
