Show THE WHITE SLAVERY URGE : mm GEORGE YOKO IS DISMISSED The white slavery charge against George Yoko, Japanese, was dismissed by the Federal authorities Tuesday. Yoko was defended by Attorney A. C. Cole. This case had its origin in this community com-munity some time in January and was the development of a triangular squabble, squab-ble, the other parties to the deal being a Greek a sort of Beau 'Brummel and a queenly maiden from Missouri, known to her friends in this section as "Billie." The Jap started the ball rolling roll-ing by trying to have Millie pinched I for stealing $100 from, him. Billie denied de-nied stealing themoney and quit the camp at once, going to Salt 'Lake with her Greek friend, where she was arrested. ar-rested. Then the Jap was arrested on a white slave charge. Billie was able to convince the court that she had not really stolen the Jap's money and she was released. IBut Yoko's case came under the Fed eral jurisdiction and a thorough investigation inves-tigation was made before the case was called. When the matter was taken up it was found that there was no evidence evi-dence that he had violated the Mann act and he was dismissed. |
