Show Helen Jones to Receive 4-H Award r - J tar M nV.v X: . ,--- ' t ' ' : J HELEN JONES Notification was received this week that Helen Jones, Enoch. who has served as a 4 II Club leader for 13 years, will receive one of two leadership awards to be presented by the Utah State Farm Bureau Federation, according accord-ing to Emma Nielson, Iron County Coun-ty Homo Demonstration agent. Mrs. Jones has had an illus-trous illus-trous cah-eer With 4-11 work. In addition to serving as a leader lead-er for 13 years, 11 of those years she has also served as a community com-munity supervisor. It has not been simply a teaching Job for her either. She has taken her work seriously as evidenced by her attendance at various leadership training meet ings. She has twice attended the state 4-H Leaders school at the Utah State Agricultural College at Logan; she has also attended the Farm Bureau School at Logan Lo-gan and each of her 13 years in the program has attended the leaders schools here in Iron County Her service has been unfailing. In addition to her work as a leader she has for three years Judged at county fairs other than the Iron County event. She has, served ns supervisor of demon- strations ot the Iron County Fair for five years. She has also supervised sup-ervised the home furnishings department de-partment and the clothing divisions di-visions of the county leaders school. During her 13 years as a 4-H Club leadrr Mrs. Jones has work-led work-led with a total of 30 young ladles lad-les and all 30 have completed a .total of nine years of 4-H work thus far. She had led 4-H clubs I in such projects as food, cloth-.Ing, cloth-.Ing, home improvement and cardenlnc plus special activities in health, safety, rural arts and recreation, livestock dairy foods, frozen foods, meal preparation, canning. .1am and Jellv contest. Her club members have won such awards as the county award for rural arts and recreation. Four of her girls have won trips to the National 4-H Club congress con-gress In meal preparation, girls' all permits, leases, and licenses for use of public lands and resources re-sources In effect In the township concerned. Four girls under her direction di-rection have won the Call Raymond Ray-mond Grey Scholarship award for 4 II club work In addition to numerous nu-merous county and state fair ribbons. Seven of her students have served as mayor of the annual an-nual Iron County 4-II Club camp. "Mrs. Jones is certainly deserving de-serving of the recognition she will reoeive as a winner in the Farm Bureau Leadership Award," Miss Nielson stated. "Her efforts in the county program and as a member of the county leader's council has contributed much to the success of the 4-H program in this area," the demonstration agent said. This is a recognition that is received re-ceived by only two qualified people peo-ple In the state.
