Show f Ee WASHINGTON MEMORIAL EXERCISES I The Trie University Memorial Exercises Exercises Exer Exer- xer- xer held in the Assembly Hall although not very very- well advertised were well attended the Faculty were present and the class organizations organizations organizations organ organ- were out in force Governor Heber M M. M Wells presided presided presided pre pre- sided opening the exercises with a short but eloquent and patriotic address George Skelton gave a violin solo and again responded to the encore The Seniors were then given the seat of honor on the stand Hon Abel John Evans filled his address with solid sound sense and advice The Varsity Glee Club lead by Prof McClellan McClel- McClel lan sang two selections Hon William Glassman delivered an address that fairly overflowed with humorous incidents and stories He many popular ideas about Washington and showed him to be a very natural boy and a avery avery avery very human man Prof Richard R. R Lyman gave the invocation the exercises were closed by the audience singing America and the benediction was by Joseph oseph F. F Smith The Th-e year fourth-year and year second-year and the Freshmen had their parts of the hall decorated with their class colors The students of the University and especially the Senior class wish to express their hearty thanks to Governor Wells and all those who helped to make the exercises worthy of the birthday of the Father Father Fath Fath- er of our country |
