SCORE TO fLast f r- r Last Saturday the Invincible High School eleven proved their superiority over all aIt comets both large and small The University team although several pounds heavier could not begin to play ball with the Red and Black We congratulate the High School in such a team Their efficiency in a great measure measure measure meas meas- ure is due to the good handling of the team by Callahan and Wheat Their team work is excellent almost perfect in fact Their fast playing and inapproachable able interference insured the requisite requisite requisite re re- gain ain every time Their strong plays are their end runs runs and with two such speedy men as Gardanier and Howell they were sure to gain from ten to fifty yards each tim time Smith played the best game among the backs The two Tarpey boys on oh tackle played a good hard game There w was was s no J weak man nor position apparently The University had the ball so little that not much can be said of its offensive playing Their interference was miserably weak where there was any their playing was very slow The trouble with the University team is that every everyman everyman and man is an expert player doesn's need the rest of the eleven The ends and backs are responsible for the high score that was run up Time and time again High School men circled the ends but the ends let their men get past them an inexcusable inexcusable inexcusable able thing for or an end man to do The half back on the right side utterly failed to break up the in interference interference interference in- in and Welling many times had to break up the interference and get his man too The line as usual played much too high The High School after two attempts on center in both of which they were set back dropped their center bucks Patterson played the star game for the Varsity Again and again did he bring his man and not one fair tackle out of the many he made did he lie fail To him the credit is due of the score not being seventy-four seventy instead of thirty thirty- thirty four four to nothing Sharman on the line also played a good game breaking through the line on every play The solution solution solution tion to the whole problem is that the High School played up-to- up date football while the Varsity played antique football FIRST The High School won the toss and chose the east goal Brown kicked to 10
