A opponents but considering the lack of practice on th the part of our boys we should feel greatly encouraged Every inch of ground was hotly contested and although generally out matched the U. U of U. U played with determination Not more than spectators passed through the gate notwithstanding that the appearance of the field during the second half indicated otherwise I IThe The Y M. M C. C A. A had the best of the game game- from the beginning and most ot of the playing was done in U. U of U. U territory Those who did themselves proud and added to their laurels were Allen who distinguished himself as an in invincible vinci ble bucker except when he ran up against Hyde It was about an even thing between Lynberg and Parker while Augustus at center was pushed about at atwill atwill atwill will by our Stringfellow Gatehouse did not prove as invincible as one would be led to expect being clearly outmatched outmatched outmatched out out- matched by Clayburn Wallace did great work at tackle while Hedger was almost impassible Not so much can be said of Anderson though it should be understood that nearly all of our boys are as yet novices at the game Kimball Kimball Kimball Kim- Kim ball showed his former training by decided gains whenever he was given the ball Oleson was deservingly credited credited cre cree with stopping many bucks Pearson Pearson Pearson Pear Pear- son made a strong and able guard Telford as quarter back had plenty of opportunity of exercising his cool mathematical mathematical mathematical ma ma- brain and though severely bruised at the end of the first half h he pluckily stayed wi with th it to the end An unfortunate occurrence in the second half marred the pleasure of the game considerably A mem member ber of ea each h r. r team was accused of slugging and was consequently ruled off Such things degrade the manly sport and we hope that a similar thing will not happen again r The whole cause of U. U of Us U's defeat is s summed up in its lack of team work and general inexperience which is but buta a minor defect and we expect there therefore ore orea a great deal from our present team Following is the play Kimball for or U. U of U. U kicked to Sanford who was felled on the spot by Parker The ball was advanced by an anAllen anAllen w. w Allen buck and then followed an end endrun endrun endrun run of fifteen yards by P Porter Slowly the ball came toward the center line k but there it stopped on a fumble by x Cross and was quickly seized by y String- String fellow After several ineffectual attempts to gain Kimball punted the ball to Y M.
