Show Iron County High Schools to Clash on Gridiron Iron County's two high schools will battle It out on the gridiron Friday afternoon with the Cedar High Redmen and the Parowan Rams meeting in Cedar City as the highlight of the homecoming activities on the Cedar High campus. Game time is set for 2:00 p. m. on the High School field. The Redmen, on the basis of past performances, will be strongly favored to win, with a single region 10 loss on their re-cord re-cord that a one point deficit against the Dixie Flyers, 20-19. Parowan, on the other hand, has yet to score a victory In league play and will be fighting to keep out of the cellar position. For Coach Hal Norton and his Redmen it will be the final appearance ap-pearance of 1957, barring the possibility of an upset win by Beaver over Dixie the same afternoon, af-ternoon, which isn't likely. The Rams, on the other hand, will have one more game on their slate. They have yet to meet the Kanab Cowboys, who entered the football picture just prior to the season opening, and who have been filling in their games as they could convenient, ly be arranged. Should the Redmen defeat the Rams Friday afternoon it would put the P.ams and the Jowboys. both winless ir league play, in a game to determine the low man on the league totem pole. For a number of seniors it will be the final contest in high school fotball ranks and all seniors sen-iors will undoubtedly get an opportunity op-portunity to play. However, Coach Norton Indicated that he hoped to be able to use a number of sophomore hopefuls who have showed a lot of promise and who will naturally play an important part in future football hopes of the school. |
