Show THE TRIP TO SPRINGVILLE A WEEK ago last Friday afternoon the Dramatic Club together with a few friends boarded a south bound train for Springville All were in high glee and openly indulged their feelings They played cards laughed and then laughed again until Manager Little actually had to forbid such boisterous merriment All went smoothly enough however until the train stopped at Provo when one of our gallant young gentlemen jumped from the platform and was soon lost in a throng of pretty damsels With difficulty he was dragged on as the train started and at 6 30 the club reached its destination After enjoying an excellent supper the actors repaired to the City Hall please understand that all plays are presented here to prepare for the evening evening evening even even- ing performance It was not until almost nine 0 o'clock clock however that the curtain was raised to a moderately large and appreciative audience The fascinating A A Morning Morning Morning Morn Morn- ing Call was the first on the program Mr Lewis as Sir Edward Ardent well represented an English baronet and Miss Cannon impersonated Mrs Chillington Chillington Chillington Chill- Chill ington with as much success The Box of Monkeys was well received and Miss Babcock's recitations II The Chariot Race and II Mammy's Little Baby aby commanded almost unbounded 1 applause The next day was spent in eating viewing the town and rehearsing Miss Boyer entertained the club for a few hours at her home after which preparations preparations preparations for the main show began After a fairly good stage setting was arranged and and d at a somewhat late hour Pygmalion lion hon and Galatea wa war presented to a larger and more appreciative audience than that of the previous night Mr Little m made de a handsome Greek sculptor and Miss Boyer was certainly as beautiful as asan an any Y statue The ups make-ups of Misses Hewett and Holbrook and Mr Andrus were also good In fact the appearance of our friends in the Greek costumes on which a great deal of money has I. I r been expended was simply charming As for the rendition of the classic t comedy it was to say the least well done and with another months month's preparation preparation preparation tion will certainly be worthy of a Salt Lake Theatre performance Again Miss Babcock recited several excellent selections which were most vigorously applauded by the southern r people f 1 At twelve o'clock our Springville friends reluctantly left the hall and an i hour later found the club enjoying a beautiful moonlight ride to Provo On Sunday they were shown about the city spending some time in the B.
