Show Edward George Levi Victim of California Accident I Edward George Levi, 64, part time resident of Parowan at times in recent years, and husband hus-band of Ethel Dalton Levi who has resided here this summer, was killed on Thursday night. Sept 11 when he was struck by an automobile as he was walking walk-ing across the street near his I home in Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Levi received the word of i her husband's death here and she left early Friday morning or Long Beach, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bentley, who remained with her until after the funeral services on Tuesday. The services were held Tuesday evening eve-ning at the chapel of the Dilday Mortuary in Long Beach. Burial will take1 place next Tuesday In the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, Mrs. Bentley informs us on their re- iturn home late Wednesday. The deceased was born Feb. 26, 1894 at Genci, Wis., to Anthony and Mary Ann Levi. He was i married to Ethel Dalton 25 years ago on Sept. 5, and has lived in Long Beach most of his life since that time. Surviving him besides his widow are two sisters, Mrs. Rose Byrne, San Francisco, and Mrs. Delia Sorenson, Seattle, Wash. 1 Mr. Levi was a veteran of World War I and had spent his. life in construction work, serving! as foreman on a number of con- st ruction projects up and down I the Pacific Coast. Mr. and Mrs. Bentley stated on their return home that quite a number of former Parowan resi-j dents living in Long Beach and vicinity, were in attendance at. the funeral services. j |
