Show Allison Smith, Van Bushnell Wed In Temple Ceremony Miss Allison Smith and Mr. Van L. Bushnell, popular students stu-dents at the Branch Agricultural college during the past winter, exchanged marriage vows in a ceremony conducted in the St. George L D S temple on Saturday, Satur-day, June 4. The bride and groom were honored at a reception Saturday Sat-urday evening, after which they left on a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Smith of Cedar Ce-dar City, and the groom a son of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Bushnell, of Sunset, Utah, former residents of Meadow, Utah. The bride was a member of the B A C graduating class this spring, and the groom, a graduate gradu-ate of the Davis hieh school at Kaysville, was a student at the local college. At BAC Miss Smith was a member of the Phi Alpha Beta sorority and a physical education ed-ucation mapor. Mr. Bushnell is studying forestry at B A C and is a member of the Gamma Psi fraternity and of the ROTC band. They will make their home at Fillmore during the summer and lupe to return to B A C this fall to continue their studies. The reception honoring the young couple was held at the College ward Relief Society rooms. Matron of honor was Mrs. Glendor Porter, sunset, sister of the groom, and Dean Johnson, Fillmore, stood as best man. Bridesmaids were the Misses Marilyn Carpenter, Geraldine Dover, Do-ver, and Dorothy Burton of Cleveland, Cleve-land, Idaho. Kay Smith and Hy-rum Hy-rum Johnson were ushers. Presiding Presid-ing at the serving table were Mrs. Elwood Corry and Mrs. Gordon Gor-don Smith, with Mrs. Joseph N. Smith in charge of serving. In charge of the gift room were the Misses Marion Sevy, Barbara Anderson, Orell Merryweather, and Don Lee Smith. Miss Carol Christensen presided over the bride's book, and Mrs. Henry Smith and Mrs. Edward Parry assisted as-sisted in the kitchen. j |
