Show Iron County Fair Preparations Near Completion Preparations for this year's Iron County Fair are moving into in-to the final stages this week, according ac-cording to members of the committee com-mittee In charge of the event, which will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 4, 5, and 6. Places where the various divisions div-isions are to be held are now being placed in readiness to receive re-ceive exhibits, and are announced announc-ed as follows: Livestock, at the Rambouillet Show Barn and grounds; Farm and garden produce, pro-duce, and fruits, at the C. C. C. building at the race track, and the women's division in the gymnasium gym-nasium of the Parowan high school. All crop exhibits must be in nlaro hv 9-fm a m nt thn nncn. Ing day of the Fair. Livestock exhibits must be in place by 10:-00 10:-00 a. m. of the first day. Judging of crops will start at 9 a.m. of' the first day, with judging of livestock to start at 1 p.m. Exhibits in the-homemaking department must be delivered to the exhibit hall be noon Wednesday, Wednes-day, September 3, the day before be-fore the opening of the Fair. Flowers must be entered and arranged ar-ranged from 9 to 11 a. m. Thursday, Thurs-day, September 4. Judges have been announced as follows: Sheep, Clifford Le Fevre, Vocational Vo-cational Agricultural Instructor at Orderville. Beef, Waldo Isom, Iron County livestock grower. Dairy and Swine, Grant Esplin, Beaver County Agricultural agent. Home making department: Rhea Gardner, Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural college; Carol Watkins, Home Demonstration agent Washington county, and Betty Spllsbury, Violet Esplin, Hannah Wells and Lucille Gubler, leaders lead-ers from Washington county. Entertainment features of the fair In addition to the exhibits will include a horse show and race meet on each of the last two days of the Fair, and dancing dan-cing on Friday and Saturday evening. The horse show and race meet will feature several races each afternoon with a large number of outside horses expected to come in to compete with local I horses. It is also planned to run off a few rodeo events between races and show events, with each afternoon's program to be climaxed cli-maxed by a chariot race. i The dances in the evening will be held In the Brown Derby with the Utah Buckeroos orchestra ' furnishing the music. |
