A 14 u. u OF or u. u JUNIOR 4 CITY JUNIOR 6 LAST Saturdays Saturday's football games were the most interesting ever played on the University camp campus campas The first game gamer r was called shortly after ten o'clock and the University Junior team and the City Junior team lined up as follows kr U. L half-back half Allen Riter Quarter The City team started the ball but J the University secured it and carried 6 it back to centre before it was stopped The teams lined up again and the i University by alternately running around left end and bucking bucking the centre i j carried the ball under the City's goal goaland goaland goaland and secured a touch down Mitchels Mitchel's runs around left end and Millers Miller's breaks the centre were features of the playing that gained the touch down Beck I failed to kick a goal and t the h teams lined up again The City had the ball most of the last quarter of the first half but were prevented from scoring by vigorous playing on the University side Time was called the score bein being 4 to 0 in the University's favor The second half was hotly contested from the very start The Cit City took the ball after the off kick-off and by steady gains pushed their way through to within one foot of the University goal The City attempted to buck the centre but were pushed back several yards till McGraw by a clever play around end made a touch own Robbins of the Ci City ty team easily kicked a goal and the score stood 6 to 4 in favor of the City During the last fifteen minutes it was evident that our boys vere getting tired They could not hold the line as they had done during the first half and as a result most of the last quarter was played on their ground They however fought every foot of the ground they were forced to yield and the City was still ten yards from the goal when time was called the score still being 6 to 4 in favor of the City Last Saturday the Y M. M C C. A. A and University teams played a match game of football The game was called at 4 40 Major Downey umpired the game and Fred Od Odell ll acted as referee The Y M. M C. C A. A boys took the ball balland balland balland and kicked i it fifty yards into the U. U of ofU's ofUs ofUs ofU's ofUs ofU's Us U's territory The U. U of U. U took it back to centre Considerable bucking then took place the Y M. M C. C A. A showing showing showing show show- ing superior strength McIntyre made madea a fine run and touched the ball down A try at goal was made which resulted in failure The U. U of U. U then took the ball but the remainder of the half was devoid of any special features and ended with the score 4 to 0 in favor of the Y M. M C C. A. A The second half showed more than ever the superior playing of the Y M. M C. C A. A bucking the centre being the principal play McIntyre made a touch touchdown touchdown touchdown down but the try for goa goal again proved unsuccessful The U. U of U. U then again took the ball and kicked off But the Y M. M C. C A. A quickly forced forced the TJ U. of U. U boys back to the goal McIntyre again made a touch down and kicked the goal The game ended with ith the score 14 to 0 in favor of the Y M. M CA C C. A A. We were very much surprised at the playing of the U. U of U. U team It was bad The U. U of U. U boys will have to get down to more earnest practice and by the way more practical practice if they expect to play the High School on Thanksgiving They should have put up a much better game than the did Yet the efforts of certain mem members bers were certainly certainly certainly very praiseworthy Kimball Stewart and Van Cott did some very 1 Y good work For the Y M.
