Show Voters Approve $450,000 Bond Issue lor Schools While the vote was not nearly near-ly as heavy as had been hoped taxpayers approved the issuing of $450,000 in bonds to launch an extensive school building program pro-gram in the Iron County School District, when they cast their ballots on the question Wednesday, Wednes-day, December 1. All but $100,000 of the bonds will be issued in the next few months to provide two urgently needed buildings in the county, and the remainder will be used for Improvements to buildings throughout the district at a little later date. The two buildings that are very urgently needed Include In-clude an elementary buiPJlng In Cedar City, where present buildings build-ings are entirely Inadequate, and a similar building at Beryl, where there is no building and where a large number of students stu-dents are now living as the result re-sult of agricultural development in the area. A total of 599 votes were cast in the county during the day, 533 of them In favor of the bond Issue, and 66 votes cast against the proposal. The majority of the votes were cast in Cedar City with the taxpayers favoring the issue by an overwhelming majority. ma-jority. The Cedar City vote was 379 for to 12 against. The vote in every town of the county was in favor of the bond issue, with a heavy majority shown In every town except Par-agonah Par-agonah and Parowan, Paragon-ah Paragon-ah voters favored the issue 37 to 2, while Parowan taxpayers cast 31 votes for and 20 votes against the bond Issue. All towns except Cedar City and Parowan also voted on a member of the Board of Education, Educa-tion, but with only one candidate candi-date on the ballot, Samuel Abbott, Ab-bott, president of the Board, not many votes were cast.
