Show Legion to Sponsor Negro Ghosts" In Hoop Game Here The original Negro Ghosts" basketball team will return to Cedar City next week under the sponsorship of the local American Ameri-can Legion Post for a one night engagement in the Branch Agricultural Agri-cultural college fieldhouse. An all-star team from this area will meet the "Ghosts" in a game scheduled for 8:15 p. m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 in the BAC fieldhouse. An evening of fast, expert, and many times humorous humor-ous ball playing is in store for the fans who see this game. Preceding the main game, there will be a preliminary contest, con-test, according to LaVell Chamberlain, Cham-berlain, Legion official in charge of arrangements for the affair. It is expected that an M-Men team from Cedar City will meet the M-Men M-Men team sponsored by Caliente and Pioche, Nev. Some of the men who will probably see action with the all-stars against the "Ghosts" will be Ivan Beem, Parowan, one of the big guns on the BYU team two years ago; Alma Garrett, Cedar high coach who formerly played with B. Y. U.; Murray Maughan, BAC coach who played at the USA C, and Clair "Tuffy" Robinson a standout in high school basketball at Parowan two years ago. |
