Show "Old Timers" Honor Member on His 85th Birthday I At 2 p. m. on election day the "Cedar City Old Timers" Met at the swimming pool auditorium, the date having been selected to honor Randall Lunt on his 85th birthday. The honored guest opened the program by singing "Oh Don't You Wish You Were Me". i William Flanigan related some of his early experiences, including includ-ing hauling lumber from Mt. Trumble, a trip through Zion Narrows, and bringing lumber from the rim to the floor of Zlon canyon by cable in 1905. The program also included gul-tar gul-tar music by Fred Smith, and ac-cordlan ac-cordlan music by Rube Walker. , Samuel B. Jones also entertained entertain-ed with songs and banjo music. A lot of stories were told, with Frank McConnell "stealing the fhow" with one in which Bob .Rickards was quoted frequently. I The next meeting will be held al the same place at 8 p. m. December 8, with Sam BelL .Ed Houchen, Wm. C. Macfarlane and Johnnie Walker, In charge of ar. rangements. Members of the group report that Old Timers who are not at-tending at-tending the meetings are missing something really worthwhile. |
