Show Special Program Will Mark Opening of 4th. Annual Art Exhibit Plans are now complete for the fourth Annual Art Exhibit which Ah.ch will open at 2 p. m. Sun-i..y. Sun-i..y. November 21, In the Cedar ity Hiuli School gymnasium. The cvhib.lt will be open to the nubile r.'om 2 p. m. to 10 p. m. oil week days and from 4 p. m. to 10 p. m. Sundays, thus giving urt patrons r.mple opjxirtunlty to see the excellent ex-cellent display of oils and water colors which make up the exhlMt. A series of three programs have bcf n planned by the Cedar City Art Guild to assist the visitors to I Inn ease their understanding and appreciation of art. They will be riven each Sunday afternoon at 4 Cclock. The first of these pro-n pro-n ms will be given next Sunday ard will include an analysis of the pc lures on display, with special attention at-tention being given to the unusual painting "Embarkation". The second sec-ond program will be given Sunday, November 28, and will be an all musical program under the dlrec-t dlrec-t on of Roy L. Halverson. Tho concluding con-cluding program will be held December De-cember 5 and will feature a discission dis-cission on "Pictures We Like and Why." Art enthusiasts at this year's exhibition ex-hibition will be greal-ly Interested hi the modernistic painting entitled entitl-ed "Embarkation" by Everett Gee Jackson. Mr. Jackson's painting was si-en by those who visited the art r'l.iplay at the San Francisco World Imposition. That such painting-, ore t.) be shown this year s;eaks well fr the standard of our local urt slrow. . Many other excellent paintings have arrived ond others are bclni idded to tlie show each div. A 'aiRe painting done by Utah's nrt-l-t, Fairbanks, Is one of the most lecent additions. Those who hnve enjoyed the Salisbury paintings in eniller exhibits will oKoln be pissed piss-ed to learn that six pictures will be shown by Rose H. ond Cornelius Salisbury. lor those imtrons who enjoy the masters, there will be a series of prints which include works by such artists as Reinbrant. Renclr, Holbein. Hol-bein. Roniney. Paphael. Cezenne. and Goya. Pictures thut ore owned locally by the schools of Iron County Coun-ty nnd the Brunch Arjriculfirul College will also be exhibited. |
