Show Geo. Henry Tryon Dies At Modena tleore Henry Tryon. 80, of State-line. State-line. Utah, died suddenly at th? heme of friends in Modena at aboi'i midnight Tuesday. A native of Kockport. 111., Mr Iryon had been a familiar figure to vi.Mturs in the We.-t part of Iron County for more than 40 years. He was born Au.;ust 5. 1861, and came to Utah in 1899 when the now practically prac-tically deserted Stateline was a thriving mining eutnp. After the famed Ophir and Johnny John-ny mines closed down nearly 4) years ago, Mr. Tyrol i remained m Stateline where he developed claims of his own and did prospecting pros-pecting until last fall .when failing fail-ing health and the amputation of a leg in 1938 forced him to move to Modena for the winter. Maintaining an alert interest in world affairs his last spoken words after lusteniiii to a news broadcast broad-cast Tuesday night were: "I hope I live till this war's over." Since he contracted Bergers disease resulting re-sulting in the leg amputation hi; hud been cared for by n long-time friend. Mrs. C. M. Oearhart, also of Stateline. His only known survivor sur-vivor is a brother, F.d D. Tyron of Quliuy. Illinois. |
