Show Cedar City High School News By Dorothy Gardner The basketball team returned from Salt Lake over the weekend not very hap;-, but they returned. Authority has it that the Cedar-Dixie Cedar-Dixie game was the best game played. play-ed. Our team seemed to have bcenj jiuxed or something, as the ball would roll around the edge of the basket and drop oil without (jotng through. However they gave the other teams a good run frr their money. A large numter of students went to Salt Lake to the game. It seemed seem-ed to those who stayed here as if most of the student body had gore. Some of the boys come back wearing the big flowered bow ties that are the fad in Salt Lake. The faculty had another of their parties on Tuesday. When the faculty fac-ulty decides to have a party they go to work and really do the thing up right with no half way meanures. The Boys' Week annual assembly will be held on the 31st of March. This is the day when the boys Just let go and really look like hobos. The rumor is that they are planning plan-ning something different this year. If their plan succeeds it will be a-bout a-bout the first time in the history of the high school that such a plan has been effective. j ! Two more of last year's senior class, Dick Dotson and Doug Lunt, have been visiting at school during dur-ing the week. These boys have been stationed at Buckley Field, Colorado, Colo-rado, with the Army Air Corps. Gerald Hess and Milton Jones spent last week in Salt Lake and San Francisco taking their testa for tlie Naval Air Corps. One organization or another a-round a-round school takes upon Itself the responsibility of seeing that the whole student body attends the really excellent picture shows playing play-ing In town. Next Monday the Girls Organization Is taking the school to tee "Madam Curie." The committee for this show Is Norma Leigh, Chi oris Bowman, Roee Bullooh, and Nadene Cowley. The lyceum last Saturday which presented Jan and Mlschel Chernlo-vsky Chernlo-vsky was a very excellent evening's entertainment. The Girls' Organization has received re-ceived the emblems for their Jackets Jack-ets with a crimson and gold emblem on the pocket. The girls who wear these Jackets are Adele Sevy. Audrey Aud-rey Jean Halght. Blllie Leigh. Elma Sargent, Louise Urle, Delores House and Norma Leigh. |
