Austin has been serving with n radio unit assigned to the responsibility respon-sibility of radar repair and maintenance main-tenance In the war ictie and rms spent many months on Islands cf the Pacific. He was first stationed 1 on New Caledonia, but was later transferred to Guadalcanal lit the Solomon Islands, where he spent about seven months. From there he was transfercd to other islands farther North, before being return- 'rd to Hawaii where he received ) special training, and was later returned re-turned to the United State's.
