Show Commissioners Hold Meeting The Boa d of County Commissioners Commis-sioners at the regular monthly meeting in Parowan last week increased in-creased the monthly salary of Deputy De-puty Sheriff Hay H. Adams from $100 to $125 a month. On motion of Conunissloner Charles R. Hunter, seconded by Conunissioner Hugh L. Adams, the County Attorney was Instructed to notify all persons oiwrating businesses busi-nesses in which slot machines or money boards are being operated that such machines must be removed remov-ed or they will be confiscated. Joseph B. Adams of Parowan met with the Commissioners and complained com-plained that a fence constructed ty the W.P.A. under the direction of Iron County along his property line was poorly constructed and a.ked that the county take steps to Improve the fence. The matter was referred to Commissioner H. L. Adams for investigation. The County Clerk was instructed instruct-ed to write a representative of the Governor of the State and ask if it would be permissable to let the U D S. church have one of the uv;d CCC buildings at Duck Creek. The buildings were recently turned over to the county by Governor H. B. Maw. The building would be used by the Church as a storage room at the Parowan Stake Can- J nery and Storage Center in Cedar' City. j A le'ter to the Commissioners from the Utah State Pair Commit-, tee asking that Iron County prepare pre-pare an exhibit at the State Pah' this fall, was considered and the Clerk instructed to refer the matter mat-ter to Lamont E. Tueller, County Agricultural Agent, with instructions instruc-tions that he investigate the possibility pos-sibility of making a creditable exhibit ex-hibit and make his recommendations recommenda-tions at the next meeting of the commissioners. |
