Show Funeral Services Held Saturday For Wood Urie Impres.ive funeral services were held in the Third Ward Chapel on Saturday afternoon for George Wood Urie, who died suddenly on Wednesday of a heart attack. Mr. Urie. Director of the Iron County Public Welfare Department, was suddenly stricken after returning to his home after spending the day at his office and while apparently feeling fine. The services were conducted by Bp. Glen Kenney of the Third Ward, and were as follows: Opening song, "I Know My Heavenly Hea-venly Father Knows,'' by the Choir, with Elaine Southwick and Lorln C. Miles, singing the verse. Invocation by President, David L. Sargent. - Song, "Prayer Perfect," by a quartet composed of LaNoir Jones. Reed Roberts. Elihu Whatcott, and Gene Palmer. Talk by Mayor H. H. Lunt. Vocal Duet, "In The Garden," by Bert Carpenter and Chauncey Macfarlane, accompanied by Mrs. Melba Sargent. Talk by Marvin Crawford of Ogden, Og-den, who gave a history of Mr. Urle's life, and read sentiments from the Cedar City Coordinating Council, of which Mr. Urie was a prominent member, and from the M. B. W. Club, of which Mrs. TJrle is a member. Violin solo, "The End Of A Perfect Per-fect Day," by R L Halversen, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Bernella Jones Talk by Samuel F. Leigh who had worked with Mr. Urie as a member of the Iron County Public Welfare Board. Closing song, "Sometime We'll Understand", by tho Choir. Benediction by E. M, Corry. Dedication of the grave by Oeo. A. Wood. |
