Show " City Council Approves Planning Survey, Expert Employed The City Council at its meeting Thursday approved the hiring of a City Planning expert to conduct an exhaustive survey of land us8 in Cedar City from which cKinite recommendations for all future planning will be made. George H. Smeath, Planning Expert, who has been brough into the state to conduct con-duct similar surveys in Utah coun-tr, coun-tr, will be In charge of the local planning program and will begin work In the very near future. The first step will be to con-,, duct a survey of the city to determine deter-mine all land use, Including the t: pe of construction on all property, proper-ty, whether residential, commercial commer-cial or Industrial; the type of construction, con-struction, whether new or old; the age of the residents, whether there e school children, or not. From this information will be determined where all new developments develop-ments should be located, such as recreational facilities, libraries, chools and other public buildngs, 'nd where commercial and industrial indus-trial areas should be located.
