Show City Dweller May Be Cilian, Cityite or Even a Laker Names Identifying persons as inhabitants of American cities have no definite principles governing govern-ing their formation, says Collier's. For example, persons living in Kansas City are knoVn as Kansas Kan-sas Citians, those living in Jersey City are Jersey Cityites, and those Salt Lake City as Salt Lakers. Others borrow their names from abroad, such as the people of Cambridge, Mass., who call themselves them-selves Cantabrigians after those living in Cambridge, England. |
