Show Appoint Committee to Investigate Conditions At Indian Village Definate steps to improve conditions con-ditions at the local Indian Vllllage is expected to result from action taken this week by the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce. Com-merce. Conditions at the village, particularly partic-ularly with regards to Fantitation, have been growing worse each year, until the County Physician and agencies ag-encies interested In health and sanitation have reported that something some-thing mast be done to improve conditions con-ditions there and protect pecple or Cedar City from hazards created by poor sanitation. In order to determine exactly what conditions do prevail and to detor-I detor-I mine what should and could be done I about it, the Chamber Bonrd has I named a special committee to con- duct a thorough investigation of conditions at the village and make recommendations of what shsuld be done. As soon as the recommendations recommenda-tions are made the support or the Indian Agency and the Utah Congressional Con-gressional delegation will be sought In an erfort to solve the Indian problem. I Although sanitation seems to be I the principal problem at present, the committee will investigate all needs of the Indian tribe and include in-clude their rindlngs In their report to the Board. The committee appointed is com posed or Clarence Miller, chairman,1 I Morris Roberts, D. C. Dix, Wm. R, j Palmer, and Dr. R. W. Farnsworth. |
