Show Noted Director to Address Family Life Institute Here The Community Adult Education Committee announces that final plans are now In preparation for the annual Family Life Institute to be held here Thursday and Friday, Fri-day, March 28 and 29. Mrs. Sldonie Matsner Gruenberg. director of the Child Study Association of America, Amer-ica, will come from New York City to serve as discussion leader for this year's Institute. Acclaimed as America's leading authority on family life by many of her co-workers, Mrs. Gruenberg has upon three separate occasions, received the annual award of Parents' Par-ents' Magazine for outstanding service to parents and the home The most recent award was made in 1940 for the authorship of her unique book. "We, the Parents." With her equally famous hus-tund, hus-tund, Benjamin O. Gruenberg. she has written another widely read book called "Parents. Children Child-ren and Money." Materials from these books come not merely from theory but through living a very full life which has included the raising of their own four children The title of the latter book. "Parents. "Par-ents. Children, artd Money," will be used as subject material In a panel discussion to be held at the college auditorium on the closing tftemoon. Seven young people of college and senior high school age are being selected to participate In this panel which will be one of the highlights of the conference. Other books authored by Mrs. Gruenberg are "Your Child Today and Tomorrow." "Sons and Daughters," Daugh-ters," "The use of the radio in Parent Education". In addition she has written articles for numerous magazines and has served1 as a lecturer In Parent Educatijn at Teachers College, Columbia University, Uni-versity, New York University, New York School of Social Work, University Uni-versity of Colorado and other colleges col-leges and universities. She is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who Among North American Authors, Aut-hors, Leading Women of America and the International Blue-book, as well as In various national educational ed-ucational directories. For over thirty years Mrs. Gruenberg Gruen-berg has been active In the Child Study Assclatlon of America which is the pioneer organization aiming toward the better understanding under-standing of family relationships and child guidance. Through her work with parents Mrs. Gruenberg has been called into almost every phase of educational effort having sign ificance for the home and the community. Her message has been eagerly received not only by parents par-ents and teachers but by social workers, nurses, and the young people themselves. Her realistic outlook out-look and her warmly human approach ap-proach combined with great humor, have made her lectures an outstanding out-standing success with every group before whom she has appeared. Mrs. Gruenberg will make three Utah appearances while she Is In the west. Appearing first at the University of Utah she will travel to Cedar C.ty and then go back to Fillmore Vfore leaving lor Salt Lake again from where she will Journey to meet a San Francisco engagement. Mr. C. B. Cooley, chairman of Adult Education, states that the committee Is receiving full cooperation cooper-ation from community leaders in planning this year's institute and It is earnestly hoped that a large attendance will be registered at each session. As In previous years, the committee will offer the services of the conference leader to Paro-wan Paro-wan for an afternoon lecture. Mrs. Gruenberg will lecture at the Par-owan Par-owan High School on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock and als0 at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 28 In the First-Fifth Ward Chapel. Friday Fri-day morning she will lecture before be-fore a combined audience of college and high school students and at 3 p.m. In the college auditorium the public will be Invited to hear the pane! discussion described above. The closing lecture will be at 8:15 pm. in the first-Fifth Ward chapel on Friday, March 29. Theme i'or the Institute Is "New Vistas for the Family."
