Show Services Held For Drowning Victim Funeral services for Jimmy Davis. 14. who was drowned at Yankee Meadow on Tuesday of last ween, were held m the Thud Ward Chapel Chap-el at 4 p. m. Saturday, with Bp. I. E. Riddle presiding. The services were opened with a quartet composed of Annette Bet-I'lbt'ii, Bet-I'lbt'ii, Zelma Lunt, Ray Cosslet t and Wm Macfiirhine, singuig "Oh Mv Father," accompanied by Margaret Webster. The balance of the musical program pro-gram included two numbers by the quartet, "Sometime We'll Understand," Under-stand," and "God Be with You'; a vocal solo "Teach Me to Pray," by Herschel Neeley, accompanied by Mrs. Beth Leigh, and a vocal solo, "Whispering Hope", by Ray Cosslet. Coss-let. The speakers were Charles R Hunter, Samuel F. Leigh, and Bp. Riddle. Invocation was by James Fisher, benediction by Herbert W. Webster, and the grave was dedicated dedica-ted by Furl Porter. Jimmy was drowned when he decided de-cided to go for a swim at the Yankee Yan-kee Meadow Reservoir, diving in with a pair of denim trousers on, and fmdlng that they were too heavy to swim In, he attempted to kick them off, and apparently became be-came exhausted before kicking himself him-self free. He was on an outing at the reservoir with Frank Henderson, Hender-son, who tried desperately to save his companion but could not reuch hiiii In time. |
