Show Deadline Near on Auto Inspection June 15 is the deadline for complying com-plying with the state law in connection con-nection with automobile Inspection and all mortorists are urged to have their cars inspected at once, according to W. D. Hammond, chairman chair-man of the state road commission. Mr. Hammond points out that if each motorist will have his car Inspected now, the Inspectors can take plenty of time to do a thorough thor-ough Job, something that is not always possible during the last rush days of the Inspection period. "Motorists should look at the Inspection In-spection requirement as a personal protection and not as a burden that Is Imposed upon them by the state," said Mr. Hammond. "The aim of the Inspection law is to save lives and prevent damage to persons and property. If every motorist would keep his car in first class condition condi-tion mechanically there would be no necessity for a state inspection law. A majority of motorists realize real-ize the necessity of keeping automobiles auto-mobiles in first class condition and play safe in the matter for the sake of themselves and their families, as well as for the safety of other motorists. The necessity for the requirement re-quirement is brought about because a minority let their cars become unsafe mechanically and the public pub-lic has to pay for the omission and the carelessness of a few." |
