Show MaBhtv J Jr POLITICAL PARTISANS SHOULD AGREE Up to this time there has been no definite agreement among the democrats in the. Senate about the course that shall be adopted with respect to the. appointments being ent in by-President Taft. Since Congress convened the President has ,mado a large number of nominations and very few of them have, been confirmed. confirm-ed. Will the democrats refuse to allow .the President to fill vacancies va-cancies in order that there may be more "pie" for them? There is a strong disposition to this, but then it is ' recognized that there will be a scant working majority in the Senate for President Pres-ident Wilson to depend on when he comes in, and if opposition be provoked the Republicans can make no end of trouble after March 4th next. Perhaps an un derstanding may be reached soon, and the anxiety of a large number of the President's nominees nom-inees relieved. |
